German musician Shantel started out as an electronica and trip hop producer/DJ with two albums out on !K7. He took to eastern European music while visiting Bucovina, in search of his family roots. Upon his return he pioneered the concept of mixing club music with Balkan influences and became known for his legendary Bucovina Club parties and remixes of tracks by Mahala Rai Banda, Taraf De Haidouks and more. ‘Disko Partizani’ is his first album in seven years, to be released on Crammed. On ‘Disko Partizani’, Shantel successfully brings together his experiences as a producer, musician and DJ to create catchy and energetic pop songs, full of influences from Eastern Europe, Greece, Turkey and beyond. The album will come out in early September 2007.
